BRING ON THE BROCHURES - Student Assessment Task

 Due:  Thursday, March 7, 2013

Today, much of society’s information is provided by posters, billboards, commercials and advertisements.  One popular and effective method of advertisement is through brochures.

Your class is planning a literary conference and is in the process of deciding on key authors who will be invited to present.

Your classmates have listed a variety of authors whom they would like to invite.  Your teacher has asked each student to create a sample brochure identifying a favorite author and reasons why this author should be invited to present.

Your task is to:

·         research your favorite author using a variety of sources;

·         organize information in a brochure format;

·         provide convincing reasons why this author should be invited to speak at the literary conference;

·         design a brochure that will convince your classmates to invite your favorite author.

Your brochure will be turned in to your teacher.  The most effective brochures may be used to promote the literary conference.
